5 TIPS TO GET LEAN FOR SUMMER

1.EAT HIGH PROTEIN FOODS

While it’s very important to eat a low-calorie diet, it’s just as important to eat high-quality foods. Protein helps build muscle, and building muscle will help speed up metabolism which will lead to leaner and healthier physic.

2. AVOID CALORIES THROUGH LIQUIDS

Often people only count their solid food calories. But is important to stay away from the fizzy drinks/wine/beers and stick to water! If you have a craving for a wine at the end of the night that’s fine, but make sure to include that in your calorie intake. It may mean you will need to cut back somewhere else in your diet. DRINK WATER!!

3. DON’T UNDER EAT

It’s important to stay in a calorie deficit, but don’t deprive yourself of food. You still need a full range of nutrients in your diet and you still need to be getting good quality foods in. 

4. TRAIN!!!!

We’d recommend a combination of HIIT and strength training. Burn calories and build muscle! HIIT is awesome for those days you’re stuck for time - it can be all over in 30-45min. However don’t forget that strength training is just as important - think higher muscle mass and lower body fat = faster metabolism.

5. RECOVERY EXERCISE / LIGHT EXERCISE

Adding in a walk, light bike ride, or even just something simple as a friendly game of tennis is a great way to burn calories without associating it with training. If you aren’t in the mood to train then grab a mate and go for a walk.
