3 TIPS TO HELP MAINTAIN YOUR NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTIONS

We get it, it's January and everyone has New Year's resolutions. You're motivated to make a change, but can you keep this intensity up long term?

The simple answer to this is YES!! It's possible.

But… It's very hard without a good plan.

Some of us go into the new year with no plan or a system to get us from A to B, so we’re sharing 3 tips to keep that "fire in your belly" and help you achieve your training goals this year.

1. CHANGE YOUR ENVIRONMENT. If your goal is eating healthy and training all the time but your friends don't do the same, you'll find that you will end up in the same boat you started in. Try adding someone into your social life who also shares a passion for fitness. Also, your environment doesn’t just mean the people you surround yourself with - it can also mean in your home. For example, instead of keeping chips in your pantry, you could have a rule where you have to walk to the shop to eat chips - making the chips less accessible.

2. CREATE GOOD HABITS AND ROUTINES. I know what they say... a routine is boring but creating a routine can be the difference between achieving and not achieving your goals. You can develop a positive routine as simple as walking vs driving when possible.

3. Probably the most important tip is to CREATE SMALL ACHIEVABLE GOALS within your "big" main goal. Stop planning too far ahead. If the goal is to lose 10kg, then focus on losing 1kg first.
